The Sherman-Oddo Press
The Sherman-Oddo Press is inextricably linked to the storied printing tradition of Philadelphia, a tradition started by Benjamin Franklin. In business since 1933 and located in North Philadelphia, at the site of an old trolley car barn, Sherman-Oddo is one of the City’s few specialty printers – equipped to handle the time-honored craft of letterpress, as well as goldstamping and artful packaging. The company has produced high end products for a number of reputable clients including Godiva Chocolates, Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Co., Shriver’s Salt Water Taffy, and the City of Philadelphia, among others.

A family business, operated by David Sherman, Sherman-Oddo has recently been chosen by Taws (Philadelphia’s finest art supply store) to produce Letterpress items, including wedding invitations, stationary, and business cards. All told, the company prints a wide range pf products including: book jackets, book covers, invitations, menus, folding cartons, CD covers/booklets, greeting cards, rigid box wraps, newsletter, letterhead, envelopes, business cards, die-cut specialties, pocket folders, pamphlets and brochures.
